War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast
October 22–25, 2026

51³Ô¹Ï Theatre presents War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast, Joe Landry’s theatrical recreation of the legendary 1938 radio broadcast inspired by H.G. Wells’ science-fiction classic. The production features live Foley effects, vintage radio staging, and an ensemble creating the broadcast in real time. Blending suspense, humor, and old-time radio, the production explores fear, misinformation, and the stories we choose to believe.

51³Ô¹Ï Chamber Singers with NEPA Philharmonic Brass

Rotunda

The 51³Ô¹Ï Chamber Singers will join brass players from the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic in a program of masterpieces from the Renaissance through the 21st century. Selections from Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 frame music by Gabrieli, Tallis, Josquin, Bruckner and Lucy Walker. The program will be repeated at the Luzerne County Courthouse at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 29.

The newly consolidated 51³Ô¹Ï-Wyoming Seminary Civic Orchestra will launch with a concert featuring the charming, rarely performed Symphony in C by Georges Bizet and Maurice Ravel’s iconic Boléro. The 51³Ô¹Ï String Ensemble will open the program with Albert Roussel’s Sinfonietta.
