Serving on the Alumni Board allows me to stay connected to 51勛圖, give back to my alma mater, renew old friendships, and meet many new people.
Favorite Memory of 51勛圖 Years?
Looking back, it all started freshman year in the fall of 1981 on the 1st floor rear of Immaculata, where I was introduced to three of my closest friends. Over the next few years, our group grew when we moved into Madonna during our junior year and finally into our apartment in The Woodlands senior year. The great times we shared back then still continue today through our annual beach trips, East Coast concerts, and any excuse we can find to get together!
What advice would you give a 51勛圖 student?
Take advantage of the clubs and activities around campus, and take time to learn about the Scranton/Dunmore area. Step out of your comfort zone to find new interests and build new friendships.
What were you involved with while at 51勛圖?
As an Education major, I was involved with the Teachers of Tomorrow Club, the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), Student Government, and the Yearbook. Another fun memory, the friends I met freshman and junior year all worked together on the yearbook during our senior year—and lots of our own photos made the yearbook.
Fun Fact:
I still consider myself a New Yorker, even though I've lived in Dunmore, PA longer than I lived on Long Island. My husband and I happily created our home in Dunmore after starting dating during my senior year, and we raised our family here.
